Legacies and Lineage: An Awakening Discussion of African Ancestries

February 25, 2019 at 6:00pm

Johnson Center, Dewberry Hall

2019 marks 400 years since enslaved Africans were taken from their home continent to the East Coast ports of the United States. With their capture, Africans were stripped of their identity, names, and religion. In an effort to connect Mason students and Staff back to their African Lineage, the African Student Association, Black Student Alliance, and Caribbean Student Association have collaborated with AfricanAncestry.com to conduct 10 DNA tests. Company CEO Gina Paige will be speaking with us on campus to explore the results. Join us and you may be selected to have a free AfricanAncestry.com DNA test done!
