Student Transition Empowerment Program (STEP) Graduation
Communities of Focus
First-generation students who have participated in the Student Transition Empowerment Program (STEP)
The Student Transition Empowerment Program (STEP) graduation aims to celebrate and acknowledge first-generation students on becoming pioneers of their families to be the firsts to attend and graduate college. Students who participate in STEP develop community bonds, enhanced performance academically and socially, and who benefit from spending a summer together prior to their first year at Mason. Following this, all students are known as STEP Scholars. Every year, the STEP graduation has been a renowned celebratory time for families and to honor the accomplishments of STEP Scholars. This year, we will keep that same celebration atmosphere, but deliver the program virtually. Our goal is to truly honor each students’ commitment to their education and recognize the families, friends, and networks that have supported each student toward their goal of graduation.
It is with great honor and excitement to invite you to participate in this year’s STEP graduation:
We came, we saw, we conquered.
We are limited to distribute no more than 30 stoles. We will send them by mail during the summer to the mailing address listed on your form.
